Sheriff’s Deputy

Thank you for your interest in the Bradford County Sheriff’s Office. If you would like to be considered for a position as a Deputy, you MUST have a Florida Law Enforcement Certification. We have positions available in Full-time, Part-time and Reserve Status. Starting Salary is $28,500 plus benefits that consist of:

  • Medical, Dental and Life Insurance Available
  • Paid Retirement (Florida Retirement System)
  • Paid Annual Leave

Qualifications:

  • Must have Florida Law Enforcement Certification
  • Must be 19 years of age
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Be a U.S. citizen
  • Have a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
  • Not have been convicted of a felony. Must not have been convicted of a misdemeanor involving moral character, false statements, perjury or domestic violence.
  • Ability to work well with people

BCSO Employment - Non-Sworn Positions

Law Enforcement Communications

The Bradford County Sheriff’s Office Dispatch Center consists of 8 full-time authorized communications officers. We dispatch for Law Enforcement including Lawtey, Brooker and Hampton jurisdictions, Fire and Rescue. Anyone interested in a position as Dispatch Operator should possess the following skills:

  • Quick Thinker
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Proven ability to work with the public
  • Assertiveness with professionalism
  • Ability to work under stressful conditions

Full-time Dispatchers work 12-hour shifts and have a starting salary of $21,000 annually, with an increase after a 6-month probationary period. Benefits include medical, dental and life insurance, Retirement (Florida Retirement System), Paid Annual leave.
